Dayveon is a 13 year old African American boy living in a small rural Arkansas town. There’s not much to do and there’s not a lot going on which makes for a breeding ground for gang-type activity. Struggling with the recent death of his brother and his own adolescence, it’s tough for a kid like Dayveon. He knows the difference between right and wrong and he knows the consequences but there’s an acceptance of the inevitable as he’s drawn further and further onto the circle of petty crime, pot smoking and hanging out.
