A gorgeous mixed programme of works by Royal Ballet Founder Choreographer Frederick Ashton. The Dream (1964) is a delightful interpretation of Shakespeare's riotous comedy in which a forest sprite plays havoc, armed with a love potion. His seminal masterpiece Symphonic Variations (1946), celebrates the pure beauty of movement. The passionate ballet Marguerite and Armand (1963) was created for the celebrated partnership of Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev, to Lizst’s tempestuous Piano Sonata. Captured live at Covent Garden London, 7 Jun 2017.
