Rural Ireland 1981. Cáit, a quiet, neglected girl is sent away from her overcrowded, dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer. Without knowing when she will return home, she is left at this strange rural house with only the clothes she is wearing. Over time and with care, strained relationships begin to deepen and Cáit blossoms and discovers a new way of living. But in this house where affection grows and there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one painful truth. Please Note: the language of this film features a combination of Irish Gaelic & English. This presentation will conclude with a post-screening Q&A recording featuring IFF’s Enda Murray interviewing the filmmakers.
