Shrek 25th Anniversary

What are you doing in my swamp?! The Academy Award winning cult-classic SHREK returns for its 25th anniversary, bringing its iconic ogre, donkey and princess to the cinema screen once again. When fairytale creatures find their way into Shrek’s (Emmy winner Mike Meyers) swamp, after being exiled by Lord Farquaad (Academy Award nominee John Lithgow), he reluctantly joins forces with Donkey (Academy Award nominee Eddie Murphy) to visit Farquaad and demand the creatures move elsewhere. A deal is struck with Farquaad, who wants to become King, for Shrek to rescue Princess Fiona (Golden Globe nominee Cameron Diaz), who is trapped in a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, waiting for her true love to save her. Once they begin their journey back with Fiona, it starts to become apparent that not only does Shrek, an ugly ogre, begin to fall in love with the lovely princess, but Fiona is also hiding a huge secret. Featuring an all-star cast voicing the iconic fairytale characters, including Conrad Vernon as Gingerbread Man, Cody Cameron as Pinocchio and Chris Miller as Magic Mirror, SHREK magnificently twists the typical fairytale idea of ‘Happily Ever After’, telling a universally important story of self-acceptance and embracing the idea that individuals have deeper, complex emotional layers beneath the surface they present to the world.
