Synopsis
A darker reimagining of a legend long defined by heroism, A24’s THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD recasts its outlaw as a battle-worn figure shaped as much by regret as by myth. From director Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One), THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD brings together award-winning Hugh Jackman alongside Jodie Comer (28 Years Later) and Bill Skargård (Nosferatu). Gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last, Robin (Jackman) is pulled from the brink by a mysterious woman (Comer), forcing him into a fragile state where survival depends on trust rather than legend. Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, he is confronted with the reality of the man behind the myth, far removed from the folklore that once defined him. As memory and time begin to shift, what unfolds is a slow, unravelling reckoning shaped by violence, regret and uneasy alliances. Somber, atmospheric and stripped of romanticism, THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD lingers on the cost of survival, where redemption, if exists at all, feels uncertain and hard-won.

Reviews
“Hugh Jackman is terrific in a dark but powerful new take on the old outlaw”
— Time Out
“A brutally beautiful and meditative new thriller... The Death of Robin Hood thoughtfully transcends its gritty conceit”
— Inverse
“The Death of Robin Hood holds our attention for the sheer severity of its reinvention, the rooted, hessian-rough vividness of its ruined world, and its earnest, complex preoccupation with matters of the soul.”
— Variety
